7:05 PM ET. OT included. Chicago rolls in feeling invincible after Connor Bedard strapped the entire franchise to his back again and bailed them out with another hat trick. The kid is ridiculous — we’re not here to debate that — but Chicago being 5-0-1 in their last six is exactly the sort of shiny object the market trips over. Strip out the Bedard hysteria and what’s left? A team missing Foligno, Dickinson, Bertuzzi, and leaning on a 20-year-old to solve every problem. That run is smoke and mirrors, and you can only ride a unicorn so long before gravity reasserts itself.

Seattle, meanwhile, is coming off a dud in Detroit where they mailed in two periods and still kept it close. That’s the spot we love: a team that underperformed, got called out for it (“we didn’t shoot enough”), and responds with a full reset the next game. The Kraken don’t beat themselves. They forecheck, they grind, and they block out the noise — exactly the profile to walk in and suffocate a young group riding high on vibes and Bedard magic.

The Kraken also already beat these same Blackhawks 3–1 earlier in the month when Chicago was actually healthier. Bedard got his touches, but Seattle controlled the pace, the matchups and the slot. Daccord is back, Beniers is heating up, and Jordan Eberle is quietly playing his best hockey of the year.

Chicago’s win streak is a house of cards built on Bedard doing superhuman things every night. Seattle is the type of structured, veteran-heavy team that drags games into the mud and exposes teams that rely on one player to solve everything. Release the KRAKEN!
