Anaheim +125 over Detroit

7:00 PM ET. OT included. We’re stepping in front of a slumping favorite with fragile confidence — the exact recipe for value. Detroit has dropped three straight and scored a grand total of two goals across those games. Todd McLellan’s response? Line juggling and bag skates. That’s not exactly the blueprint of a team that’s a “buy” at this price. When a coach starts blending top-six combinations just to “do different things,” it’s a sign he’s searching for answers, not finding them.

Alex DeBrincat’s move back to the top line is being sold as a spark, but he’s got one point in his last four games and four goals in sixteen total. The market still treats him like the 39-goal sniper from a year ago. He’s not that right now. Detroit’s underlying shot share has cratered during this skid, and their transition game looks stale — they’re skating uphill while McLellan keeps insisting it’s “just puck luck.” It’s not. It’s a rhythm problem.

Anaheim, meanwhile, is coming off a rare off-night in Colorado, snapping a seven-game heater. That’s a great setup for a bounce-back. The Ducks were sleepwalking in the first period and still hung around with one of the league’s top home teams. Leo Carlsson has turned into a legitimate top-tier driver of play, riding an 11-game point streak, and the Ducks’ young core — Carlsson, Cutter Gauthier, Terry — is clicking with speed and creativity. Anaheim has quietly averaged four goals per game in its last seven wins and has already beaten Detroit once this season, 5-2, in a game that wasn’t even that close.

The Red Wings’ current form doesn’t justify laying a price against a live road underdog with speed, swagger, and zero pressure. Detroit’s bag skate may have looked intense, but that usually signals panic more than purpose. Anaheim’s young legs should exploit a tired, overcoached lineup trying too hard to find chemistry.
