Everyone piling on the Hilltoppers thinks they’ve found a trap line. That’s the bait. Western’s résumé is padded with wins over Sam Houston, Northern Alabama, Missouri State, and Nevada. Four wins, four covers, four pats on the head for doing what they were supposed to do. Against Toledo, the only competent team they faced, they were buried.

Delaware, on the other hand, hasn’t looked “sexy” once. They failed as a massive chalk against Delaware State, then sprung a pair of outright dog wins. That looks like overachievement to the market. But the fact they’re favored here tells you everything you need to know. Numbers, not logos. Delaware shouldn’t be laying points by perception alone, yet they are.
