Saskatchewan +6½ -110 over B.C. Lions

4:30 PM EST. The second game of the doubleheader moves indoors to BC Place, and the market has fallen in love with the home favorite. BC has the flashier offense, the dual-threat Canadian quarterback in Nathan Rourke, and the home dome. Saskatchewan is the defending Grey Cup champion getting nearly a touchdown. That sentence alone should tell you where the value is.

The Roughriders have the veteran in this game. Trevor Harris, at 40, just put together one of the finest seasons of his career, and he got last week off to rest for the playoffs while the backup handled the finale. These two teams know each other well by now, and Harris knows exactly what BC is going to throw at him. On the other side, Rourke is the most dangerous weapon on the field, especially with his deep connection to Justin McInnis, but Saskatchewan's whole season has been built on making teams earn everything, and that defence travels just fine indoors.

Then there is the number. Six and a half points is a lot of points in a single-elimination game between two 10-8 teams, and it is a lot of points to lay against the defending champions with a rested veteran quarterback. BC has been stout against the run, so Saskatchewan will have to earn it on the ground with a banged-up A.J. Ouellette, but the Riders do not need to dominate the game. They need to hang around, and if it comes down to a kick late, they have one of the most reliable kickers in the league in Brett Lauther. BC may win this game. Saskatchewan does not need to win it.
