Winnipeg won that game, and naturally the market has decided that's a perfectly good reason to make the Bombers the side everybody wants to talk about. Fine. Hang the banner. Toronto isn't showing up Friday night to discuss what happened months ago. The Argonauts have evolved since then, and this is a very different football team entering the most important part of the schedule. Chad Kelly has plenty of weapons at his disposal, and Toronto has enough ways to attack Winnipeg that the Bombers can't simply load up on one part of the game and expect the evening to cooperate.

The best part of this wager is the number. Toronto isn't being asked to win by a touchdown in somebody else's backyard. We're laying a point and a half, which means a field goal gets the job done and a late Toronto score can turn a close game into a winning ticket. Winnipeg will have the home crowd, the revenge angle and all the usual Bomber noise. We'll take the Argos' confidence and the fact that they're playing their best football at exactly the right time. This has the look of one of those Friday night CFL games where the home crowd is feeling pretty good at halftime and considerably less good by the time the final whistle blows.

So let's not overthink it. Winnipeg had its moment in the first meeting. Toronto has the better momentum now, a quarterback who can make plays all over the field and an offense that doesn't need an invitation to put pressure on a defense. We're buying the Argonauts before the market catches up with them and taking the small number on the road. Grab the point and a half, sit back, and let Winnipeg spend the evening wondering why that bye week suddenly seemed like such a good idea.
