7:00 PM EST. We’re going to take Hamilton at home and grab the points tonight against Saskatchewan. This is one of those spots where the number is simply too big to ignore. The Tiger-Cats may not have everything going their way right now, but that is exactly why we’re getting a price that gives us plenty of room to work with. We don’t need Hamilton to dominate this football game. We just need them to stay within striking distance, and playing this one on their home field gives us every reason to believe they can do exactly that.

Saskatchewan is the team getting the attention, and that’s understandable. The Roughriders have been a difficult team to beat, but being the better team on paper doesn’t automatically mean they’re going to run away with a road game. This is the CFL, where momentum can change quickly and home-field advantage matters. Hamilton has already shown that it can compete with quality opponents, and we’re willing to trust the Tiger-Cats to put together a much more competitive performance with their backs against the wall.

The key for us is the number. We’re not laying points with Hamilton and asking them to prove they’re the better team. We’re taking the points and asking them to make this a football game into the second half. That’s a much easier proposition. Saskatchewan can win and still leave us with the winning ticket, which is exactly the type of position we want to be in when we’re making a wager.

Bottom line, this is a buy-low spot on Hamilton. The Tiger-Cats have taken some lumps, the market has cooled on them, and Saskatchewan is getting the respect. That sets up perfectly for us. We expect Hamilton to play with urgency at home, keep this one close and make Saskatchewan work for every inch. Take Hamilton plus the points.
